German Fest Milwaukee takes place on Milwaukee’s Summerfest grounds along Lake Michigan’s shoreline. German Fest Milwaukee, Inc. is a nonprofit that has hosted German Fest since 1981. Music and dance are part of the cultural program. The event centers German traditions and heritage from German-speaking regions.
Culture Village includes displays from German Society member organizations with pictures, posters, and memorabilia. Children can follow a Passport Program and collect table stamps while learning. The Treasure Nook sells postcards, flags, and other souvenirs in the Culture Village. A model train display and a genealogy table are also part of the Culture Village. Food options include pretzels, brats, potato pancakes, sauerkraut, and strudel.
