Czech Days is an annual celebration that brings people together to honor the rich Czech heritage for the past 75 years. It is a weekend filled with music, food, and entertainment.
The roots of Czech Days can be traced back to the late 19th century when Czech immigrants started arriving in Tabor, South Dakota. These early pioneers brought with them their customs, traditions, and a deep love for their Czech heritage.
Throughout the weekend, various bands perform in Sokol Park, filling the air with the infectious rhythms of polka music. Visitors can dance the night away at the Coronation Ball where the newly crowned Czech royalty takes center stage. The polka dance-off is another highlight, where contestants compete for the top prize.
From the iconic kolaches to savory favorites like goulash and dumplings, the food at Czech Days is a culinary delight.
