The beautiful El Rancho Manana offers a perfect setting for a music and camping weekend. The Kickoff Jam embodies the spirit of the bluegrass community, where musicians and fans come together to share their love for this timeless genre. It’s a weekend filled with jam sessions, performances, and opportunities for attendees to showcase their talent on the Ranch House Live stage.
The sets are 25 minutes long, allowing for a 5-minute emcee and setup time between sets.
The festival is ran by the The Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Association (MBOTMA) which was established in 1975. It boasts a strong community of nearly 1000 members and 100 bands passionate about bluegrass, old-time string-band, and related acoustic music. The association aims to preserve and promote this genre of music in and around Minnesota.
