Deadwood hosts Wild Bill Days as a celebration of Wild Bill Hickok’s life and era. Concerts take place throughout the weekend while activities occur along Historic Main Street. The event includes a vendor market and a downtown art festival with local businesses participating. Historical programming appears alongside the music through demonstrations and reenactments tied to Old West life.
Attendees can watch staged shootouts and the “Shooting of Wild Bill,” plus interactive family shows and hands-on historical demonstrations. Gold panning and sluicing activities occur on Main Street, and a museum wagon display allows photo opportunities. A collector car and memorabilia auction is held indoors, and a coordinated citywide yard sale takes place the same weekend.
